Pamela is a 23 yr old single mum of one year old baby Maxine (named after our very own Max!) She is bright, level headed and determined to focus on her education and future financial independence.
Pamela attends Okoth College and studies hair and beauty.
Pamela supported herself by taking washing in prior to the birth of her child. Once Maxine came along this wasn’t a casual job she could continue. We discussed with Pamela a sustainable pathway to make her financially independent and agreed with her that education was her best first step. Pamela now attends College and is studying for her diploma in hair and beauty. Once qualified in 2 years, she will run her business as a mobile salon.
During Covid lockdown, as all educational establishments have closed, Pamela used the funding we provided for transport to college to rent a piece of land and grow beans which she planted & tends to – this will make her a small profit when she sells them.
