what we do

A recent study of patients under the care of the malnutrition clinic found that 90% of mothers had lost at least one child from birth within the past 10 years through illness, disease or malnutrition.

Medical insurance is a key part of this breaking this cycle of poverty.

We fund what people need the most- that’s it.

FORGING PATHWAYS

  • To take poverty-stricken families with newborn and young children under the support of the malnutrition clinic.
  • Understanding their full family history and circumstances.
  • Forging a pathway to empower them to climb out of the poverty trap
  • Enabling a brighter future by contributing to school fees, in order to maintain children’s education, from nursery right through to vocational college or university.
  • To enable NHIF medical insurance to be paid for 2 years – this time frame allows the women to gain work through the cooperative, whilst guaranteeing peace of mind that the family’s healthcare needs can be met.
  • Needs of the family are met during this period allowing them to get on their feet.
  • Further support to aid individual circumstances ranges from school uniform provision, food parcels, mosquito nets, beds and sanitation facilities.
